The Business Development Division coordinates the legislative initiatives of the Chamber; develops educational and leadership programs; and benchmarks the community on business and community issues. It is comprised of two primary areas: the Community Development Council and the Small Business Council.

Through the Community Development and Public Affairs Council numerous opportunities are available for members to promote their business; achieve legislative changes that make our members' more profitable; develop current and future leaders of our community; interact with elected officials at all levels of government; and to undertake initiatives that improve the entire community through our Metrovisions community benchmark report.

Through the Small Business Council members are able to promote their business through various programs such as the annual Showbiz member to member trade show; participate in various education seminars to improve business marketing and management; and develop contacts with government purchasing agents through the IMPAC trade show.

The Chamber, through the efforts of a strong military affairs program works on sustainability issues related to our two military installations: Fort Bragg and Pope Air Force Base. The Chamber played an instrumental role in the latest realignment of the military. As a result of the strong partnership between the business and military communities, Cumberland County is poised for solid growth in Fort Bragg and the military business sector which supplies the installation. Additionally, through a separate Military Affairs Council (MAC), members interact with military leaders, soldiers and airmen, to develop a more cohesive community. MAC members participate in social events throughout the year at the installations, as well as receive special briefings about future changes and opportunities that can impact their business and community.
